Samidoh
Samuel Muchoki aka Samidoh is mourning the death of fellow Mugiithi singer and song writer Kioi Junior who died while receiving treatment at a Nairobi-based hospital.
"Today, we mourn the loss of a brilliant songwriter and skilled guitarist," said Samidoh
Adding that he had personally lost a brother and mentor "whose presence shaped my musical journey. Memories flood back of our time together in Githurai 44, bonding over plates of githeri at Kwa Guchu."
"Your guidance, especially teaching me chords, will forever resonate in my music. Ti uhoro, Huruka thayu.Rest in peace, Kioi Junior."
Kioi began his music journey while in Kamande wa Kioi’s band. In 2020, he declared himself as an atheist.
