The late Catherine Kasavuli's memorial service is currently ongoing at Friends' International Centre along Ngong road with thousands of Kenyans paying glowing tributes to the late anchor.

Her son Martin Kasavuli has eulogized her mum as cheeky and very caring.

In his tribute, Martin also thanked Kenyans for supporting his mum when she needed them the most.

Martin also talked about how it was hard for him to let Kenyans know that his mum was very sick.

Martin said he did not even want his mum's photos while in the hospital shared online.

He said CS Ababu Namwamba requested him to share with Kenyans so they could support the family.

"Ababu told me, Son, allow us to help your mum. But I didn't want to take away her privacy. She was humble and drama aside. Even as cancer rocked she always tried to be strong," he said.

Martin said Kasavuli prayed and appreciated all Kenyans who supported her when she asked for their help.

CS Ababu said Kasavuli has inspired so many people in the media both national and international.

He said one of the lessons he learnt that; "Never bang the door too hard on your way out, you may need to use the same door on your way back."

"I want to thank Martin for allowing me to spend some incredible time with your mom. 26 days later she lost the battle. We talked about a million things with Catherine," Ababu shared.
