AKA’s camp has come out guns blazing in their pursuit of DJ Black Coffee, after the DJ slapped AKA’s road manager at an event over the weekend.
A video of the slap, during an argument between the pair at the iRock Festival in Limpopo on Saturday evening, went viral on Sunday, as fans and celebrities took to social media to comment and poke fun at the incident using several trending hashtags.
But it seems AKA and his team are not in on the laugh. Issuing a statement on Monday morning, AKA’s team labelled Black Coffee’s actions as ” ignorant, distasteful and not of someone level headed or mature”.
They also called on Black Coffee to apologise to the road manager directly.
“It’s completely unacceptable for Black Coffee to have hit someone. We thought he was a gentleman and a professional. I’m sure he has something to say about his despicable and inexcusable action but in the meantime we anticipate an apology from Black Coffee to the young man,” AKA’s manager Benza said in the statement.
They also denied claims that AKA had showed up late for his set and had forced Black Coffee to cut his to allow him to perform – a claim that was said to have caused the argument.
AKA went on to cancel his performance at the event, and took to Twitter to voice his anger at the incident.
