She gave an empowering speech while accepting the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards last month.

And Pink discussed her daughter's reaction to her moment in the spotlight during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday.

The musician, 37, joked that Willow, six, was 'incredibly unimpressed' by having the moving speech dedicated to her.

The What About Us singer told host Ellen: 'My daughter was incredibly unimpressed by me.'

'I was like, “Babe are you excited about today? I’m going to win an award and I’m going to do a show.” And she goes, “Exactly how many minutes after you sing does my sleepover start?”

'I was like, “Dude, can you pretend to be excited for me?"'

At the VMAs, the singer gave an impassioned acceptance speech that was dedicated to her daughter Willow.

She said: 'When people make fun of me they say I look like a boy or I’m too masculine or I’m too outspoken.

'Do you see me growing my hair? Do you see me changing my body? Do you see my selling out arenas all over the world?'

She went on to add: 'Baby girl, we don’t change. We take the gravel in the shell and make a pearl. We help other people to change, so they can see all kinds of beauty.'

Pink ended her powerful speech with: 'And you my darling girl are beautiful and I love you.'

The singer told Ellen what influenced her memorable VMAs moment.
