'I Will Name And Shame Them' - Shaffie Weru Exposes Fraudulent Kenyan Event Organizers
Shaffie Weru is a bitter man after he revealed details of how event organizers have been hiring the services of different people then not paying the agreed fee. Many people have come out to reveal how they have even been given cheques that ended up bouncing.
Six months down the line, an event organizer has not paid Shaffie his money and the raverend is not having it anymore.
In a press statement sent to Word Is, Shaffie came out strong to put an end to it, vowing to name and shame these scammers so that in future, no one else falls victim as he and others have.
He said, "It comes a time when one has to speak up and call out people who perpetuate bad business practices. I know this post will be seen as me burning bridges but I cannot excuse bad behavior anymore.
I have worked with many music promoters en event Organisers and built my brand, thanks to the opportunities I have been accorded. For that I'm grateful.
This business relationships are treasured networks that as a brand, Shaffie Weru (The Raverend) I rely on and trust to continue doing business with the promoters."
He continued, "The sad state of affair, however,is that, some promoters have now started taking advantage of talent, suppliers and anyone they work with by not paying their dues. Their excuse most times is, “Our sponsors have not paid us.” That is a lie. No corporate sponsor risks their reputation by hoarding payments to a promoter."
He also pointed out hoe DNG has also fallen victim to these fraudsters, "Recently DNG came out and called out several individuals who also refused to pay him and gave him a bad cheque. The funny thing about this is that the same promoters are on social media flaunting bundles and bundles of money showing off their flashy lifestyles. All the while not paying talent for their services rendered."
"In my case, for the last six Months, I have not been paid for a job I did for a promoter/event company. The promoter has the audacity to call me days after issuing a post dated cheque and when it was due they text saying the money is not in the bank. I will name and shame these promoters," Shaffie concluded.
