I married the right man, a good man! Kambua talks about her marriage

It is not everyday that gospel singer and TV host Kambua talks publicly about her private life. She keeps everything hush hush.

Since today is Thursday, we have a mega TBT for you from the vaults. Back in 2015, Kambua had a very candid interview with Salon magazine where she spoke about her hubby, Jackson Mathu.

This is something Kambua now rarely does. Mostly because she has been the target of insensitive comments by trolls who know nothing about her life.

"I really wish to enjoy a private marriage , because the rest of my life is so public," Kambua said.

Kambua has given several interviews where she has revealed that a lot of people can be insensitive especially when they question her about her childless marriage.

"People will have an opinion over everything, over children. Today I saw a comment and deleted it because this guy commented on my Instagram and he says 'When are you going to get pregnant, you're getting old'"

Kambua added that there have been many people who are struggling with infertility. And this kind of insensitive comments do not help at all.

"I remember thinking,the reason why it angers me is because people don't even know what your journey is like. They don't know what you're struggling with. They don't know if you even what to have children.They don't know if you can have children and there are so many people especially today who are struggling with infertility. It so unfortunate that we become such a culture of being so intrusive and putting people down. Shamming each other on things like that. I would wish that people would be sensitized. I have people who are close to me who might not be at the fore front like I am but who go through that everyday."

Kambua went ahead to talk about her marriage and hubby in the interview with Salon saying,

"All I can say is that I married the right man. I fell in love with him because he knew what he wanted and he went for it."

She also clarified that, "Contrary to what many people think, he is a businessman and not a pastor. He however ministers at his brother's church in Westlands."

Kambua concluded, "I am enjoying my marriage and I look forward to many happy years with him."
