'Yes he did' Akothee breaks the internet after announcing she was dumped by Nelly Oaks

Akothee, the president of the single mothers, has lost the love of her life.

As she says, her life is our source of entertainment. From her music to her personal life, she is bold about what she believes in and lives to the beat of her own drum.

The artiste has on several occasions spoken about the affection she has for her manager Nelly Oaks, to the point that last year, the two even staged a “wedding”. The relationship raised eyebrows seeing as Nelly is a 20-something-year-old youngin while Akothee is well into her 30's.

The mother of 5 recently revealed that she had been dumped by her manager, Nelly Oaks. The two have had an on and off relationship.

In the comment section of a video she had posted on Valentine’s Day, the singer shared a sarcastic video of a few handsome men on her page describing them as heartbreakers and heart thieves.

One of her followers couldn’t help but ask what had happened to the relationship that she had with Nelly Oaks. With no chills, Akothee responded by saying that she had been dumped.

When contacted for comment, Nelly Oaks said:

‘MY RELATIONSHIP IS NOT MEANT FOR THE PUBLIC AND I WILL APPRECIATE IF PEOPLE UNDERSTAND ONLINE JOKES AND RESPECT PEOPLE’S PRIVATE LIVES. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH INSPIRATIONS OR MOTIVATIONS. PICK WHAT INSPIRES THE YOUTH AND LEAVE JOKES FOR JOKERS. GOOD AFTERNOON.’

The question now begs: was Akothee being truthful about her relationship with Nelly Oaks or was she creating a publicity stunt to improve her brand visibility?

If indeed she has been dumped by Nelly Oaks, she will be just fine because she has been a single mother for the longest time and she has managed to raise her children, build a brand and also acquire the title as one of the richest Kenyan artistes.
