Ethic Entertainment is trending once again and this time, not for the right reasons.

They have severally been on the bad books of Kenyans because of their lyrics. This group introduced Gengetone to Kenya, quickly becoming a wave we all fell in love with, prompting others to jump on it. A whole year of nothing but Kenyan music was being played everywhere.

Unfortunately, Ethic have abused the privilege accorded to them, and for the second time have composed a song with lyrics promoting pedophilia and rape.

Soko is their latest video release and it has been trending, probably what they were looking for but as an angry Tedd Josiah is saying, they are chasing views the wrong way. This is killing an industry that has genuine good music. He spoke in the capacity of a father to a little girl and a producer.

"Rape culture is a huge NO! You 2-bit silly Gengetone artistes and producers I want u to sit ur punk asses down right now and listen! You’re killing an industry called the music industry of Kenya when it’s already on its knees! Why y’all wanna start talking bout raping little infants 👶🏽 in your tracks? Why y’all wanna make ladies our beautiful Kenyan ladies think that sex is a man's right and if u don’t give it then u ain’t nothing? Why y’all messing things up for yourselves and all those talented kids trying to come up without stupid music or scandalous stories! Use ur talent not scandals, sex, drugs and all that nonsense you can do much better! Big brother is watching u 👁" Tedd captioned the video below

Most of the complaints on Twitter are from people who are fans of Gengetone but are very disappointed.

Fellow Gengetone artiste, Peter Miracle Baby from Sailors Gang is also not pleased with Ethic. He put out a post and captioned,

Siwezi kimya mumechoma😳Rape haifai ku glorifiwa. SHAME ON YOU 🙄

This caught the attention of KFCB who worked hard to get the song banned from YouTube, which is the second time. With all the hate and attention the song got, Ethic were forced to send out an apology.

"We owe an apology to our fans who have been nothing but supportive throughout our journey. It has come to our attention that our recently released Soko video has unintentionally promoted paedophilic culture. We are therefore sending out sincere apologies to all our fans and viewers at large. As a result, we have made sure the video has been taken down, it's inaccessible and we shall not further upload it. We have noted an exchange on Twitter under Swat's name and we move to confirm that it is an impersonation as Swat does not own a twitter account. Over and above, we sincerely apologize and we are working to release better music content in the future. We appreciate the feedback and we are also grateful for your continued patience. We love you all." Ethic apologized

KOT are not falling for this because it is not the first time. Last time they did the same, a song that was glorifying rape.

Their hit song, Pandana and Tarimbo have lyrics that glorify and encourage rape. The song Tarimbo was banned but found its way back to YouTube.

Despite the apology sent out by their record label, AI Record Label, Ethic had various gigs where they bragged saying in as much as KFCB is working towards bringing them down, they stand strong and their songs will still be played.
