#unlockourcountry! Celebrities cry out to Uhuru Kenyatta

Kenyan celebrities are distressed after President Uhuru announced the new directives to curb the spread of coronavirus.

A lot of them who live and operate in the zoned counties are having it rough because their source of lively hood depends on clubs and events.

As you have seen in the news, the travel and hospitality industry has also really suffered because many have lost their jobs.

Last night, celebrities came together using the hashtag, #unlockourcountry in the hope the message will get to the president which would mean there would be a solution to this.

Here are a few frustrated celebrities from Dj's to Mc's to artistes crying out:

So many sectors suffering, it needs to change fast...loans, responsibilities, hunger & rent etc don’t have patience. My friends are waiters/waitresses/ , bouncers, security guys, cleaners, hoteliers, services & products suppliers to hotels, schools and clubs, MCs, DJs, sound & lights providers, tents & seat hirers, people who supply shoes & clothes to all the people who go out, food caterers, alcohol suppliers, wedding planners, teachers, events organizers, the list is insanely endless containing millions of people suffering directly & indirectly people we know, people we care about #UnlockOurCountry & let people work under the Covid-19 guidelines let their economy grow organically since no one wants to give them stimulus packages to stay home, how do U stay home & ur kids are looking at U hungry, it’s impossible. Covid is serious but so is poverty and hunger, we should have people vaccinated as fast as possible, churches, schools, open grounds, parking malls can all be centers of vaccination 💉 we need to stop doing what the US & UK are doing, this copy-paste doesn’t apply to us, we are in Africa where things are not working as they should. Our leaders should come through for Kenyans it’s the one time they should be nice after all they have put people through 🙄
