Singer and songwriter Tems made a statement at the 2023 Oscars by wearing a huge headpiece that left audience members sitting behind her unable to see the stage.

The Nigerian Musician, who was nominated for Best Original Song for the “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” track “Lift Me Up,” paired the headpiece with a puffy white gown that wrapped around the back of her head.

During the broadcast, there were several moments where you could see the people right behind her peeping over her shoulder to get a glimpse of the stage.

It was pretty funny that they were obviously challenged by her dress and had to do a peek-around to see the action. It doesn't appear anyone said anything to her.

The same can't be said for Twitter users because a lot of them shared their anger at the fact that she wore something so big that really caused blind spots in the theatre.

The went on to say that it was rude while some found the whole outfit hilarious while some of her fans noted that Cardi B and Lady Gaga have worn similar outfit to events and no one reacted.

Here are just some of the reactions;

@ladyoflords-If the person beside her was stretching his neck to see, you think the person behind her would be able to see any screen at all?

@tacianety-Cardi B wore similar outfit last month for the Grammy's and there was no outrage! So what's all this for?? Bcuz she's African??

@brincart-Why nobody talks about lady GaGa’s dress, but bcos she is from africa or she is black they will talk about it. Nonsense

@samue1237-Assuming Tems happens to be one of the American artists, it would have been a different story. Question: why do Americans look down on African Nigerians to be precise? Such a thing happens to my sister. Why?

@dems-Hope you've apologized to those people that you blocked their views last night at the Oscars?
