Kenyan actress and social media influencer and digital content creator Dorea Chege has issued a public apology to her fiancé DJ Dibul for voicing that she loves dating men who earn less as she enjoys being in control.

The former Maria actress had earlier on during an episode of Mr. Right stated that she is open to dating someone who is less wealthy compared to her, a statement that sparked a lot of debate and controversy online.

Following this, the actress released a video apologizing to her man for her previous statements.

She implied she didn't mean to embarrass her man or hint at the fact that he wasn't a provider as such rumours had arisen since her remarks.

"Waah guys, I don't even know what to say..." started off the actress.

In the video Dorea could be seen seated next to her man as the two held hands, the DJ had a solemn look on his face as his wife-to-be went on to pour her heart out the apology.

After a brief silence, the actress explained that she had apologized to her man off camera but also felt the need to apologize publicly as well as she feels she had disrespected her man publicly.

"I decided because I said it publicly... of course I have already apologized to my baby off camera but it is only fair to apologize in public as well because the disrespect was loud.

That was so wrong of me, that was bad... that was... I don't even know what to say. It was cruel of me," Dorea emotionally said.

She tried explaining that she had uttered those words in a bid to try and fit in all in the rush of the moment without thinking of the repercussions.

"Sometimes you find yourself in a situation like you are at a place with a lot of people and you feel the pressure to say something but then just after you've said it it hits you like damn what did I just say!

Because that thing you said everyone is judging you from it, and that is what happened to me. But I have learned a lesson," added the influencer.

The actress followed it up with belittling herself and name calling all in an attempt to apologize to her man who just sat there not saying a word. Dj Dibul appeared detached as he lowered his face not meeting his lovers gaze.

"Dorea you are... heh! Shame on you! Shame on you Dorea that was very wueh! You know I don't want to sit here and try and defend myself or what I said. I want to own up to my mistake and apologize for what happened.

But you know they say a mistake is only a mistake once it is repeated. I accept my mistake and I'm apologizing for it. Wueh, karibu nivunje ndoa

Baby I am very sorry for all those words that came from my mouth. I'm really really extremely sorry baby, please accept my apology. I promise it will never happen again.

I'll always ensure I think before I talk," Dorea said as she finished off her apology.
