The Kenyan media industry is mourning the sudden demise of former KBC presenter Sally Kwendo.

Reports reaching our Entertainment desk indicate that Kwendo passed away on Tuesday while receiving treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital.

Her untimely death was later made public by Luhya singer Steve Kay who was still in disbelief that Kwendo has rested.

"What a sad morning. Rest well Sally Kwendo hii dunia ni Rangi aki. Ni juzi tu nimekua kwako ukinieleza kuwa utakua sawa," said Steve Kay.

Credible reports indicate that the radio presenter was battling depression that had developed into a mental illness.

Kwendo had worked with West FM, a station located in Bungoma, and later Kenya Broadcasting Cooperation (KBC) before exiting to focus on her private business.

She has now joined the long list of Kenyan journalists who have passed away this year.
