Detectives are looking for a four-man gang that raided a private home and terrorized a family in a bizarre robbery in Ngecha, Limuru, Kiambu County.

During the Saturday night drama, the gang raped three women who were in the house.

They had also stabbed and seriously injured a guard on duty as they gained entry into the house, police said.

 
 

According to the police, the gang first gained entry into the compound through the drainage of the cowshed.

They then attacked the farmhand cum guard stabbing him in the hand and back.

He was forced into the house where they found the family still in a holiday mood, watching movies.

 
 

The gang was armed with knives and other crude weapons and seemed to have known the home well.

While therein, they ordered everyone to lie down or else they would harm or kill them.

The victims said they were all hauled into one of the rooms where they were held hostage.

It was then that the three women were pulled aside and raped.

The gang later ransacked the house and escaped with a 32-inch tv, water dispenser, cooker, six kg gas cylinder, a decoder camera, a tablet, a JBL radio and speaker, three mobile phones and Sh81,000.

According to the police, the gang then forced one of the women present to drive them out of the compound.

They drove to Muguga area in Kikuyu and offloaded the loot before ordering them to return in their car.

Police were called to the scene and documented it announcing a hunt on the gang had been launched.

The victims were taken to a local hospital for medical attention.

Cases of robberies have been on the rise during the festive season as police struggled to keep estates safe.

Rape is a serious offense and police say they are paying attention to the incident to ensure justice.

Cases of rape have been on the rise amid campaigns to address them.

Rape cases stood at 827 in 2022, 1,013 in 2021, 973 in 2020, 950 in 2019 and 921 in 2018.
