Tiktok Top Creator awards

African TikTok creators are amongst the first to be crowned Top Creator and Top Creator Runner Up for TikTok’s inaugural #TopCreator2022 - an award ceremony that recognises and awards content creators across Sub-Saharan Africa for the immense talent and creativity they brought to the platform in the past year.

This ceremony follows a highly competitive eight-day-long public voting process on the app.

The Awards were hosted at the Mövenpick Hotel and Residences , Nairobi  and in attendance was the media community and fellow creators across Sub-Saharan Africa.

The award recipients enjoyed this momentous occasion in the presence of other nominees as they walked away with the TikTok #TopCreator2022 trophy.

The roaming chef, Dennis Ombachi took home the TikTok Top Creator 2022 Sub-Saharan Africa Winner award.

The runner Up was charity Ekezie from Nigeria.

The Top Creator 2022 for East Africa went to Natasha gwal and the runner up award went to Beauty by Nita.

Pilot on the gram and Lindokuhle Khoza won the Southern Africa awards as E4ma and Berby Picxy took home the West African awards.

With these inaugural awards, TikTok aims to give creators in Sub-Saharan Africa the recognition they deserve and to encourage them to tell the African story while spreading joy at all times.”
