Award winning rapper Kiernan Forbes known by the stage name AKA is dead. The South African rapper was shot and killed together with another man identified as his bodyguard in Durban, South Africa.
KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda told South African media, News24 that AKA was gunned down in Florida Road, Durban on Friday evening just after 10PM South African time.
"I can confirm that two men were killed and one of them is a well-known rapper. Police will not be releasing any names of the victims yet until a full investigation is completed," he said.
AKA was an award winning rapper known for songs like 'Fela In Versage' 'Caiphus Song' 'Jika' 'Composure' 'All Eyes On Me' among others.
He was dating rapper Nadia Nakai. He shared a daughter with ex lover DJ Zinhle.
