Eid Mubaraka.
Today we are celebrating Eid al-Fitr. This is a religious holiday is which is celebrated by Muslims because it marks the end of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadhan.
In Kenya, Interior CS KIthure Kindiki declared today a Public Holiday to mark Idd-ul-Fitr.
Kindiki announced this through a Gazette notice issued on Wednesday.
"In exercise of the powers conferred by section 2 (1) of the Public Holidays Act, I declare Friday, 21st April, 2023, shall be a public holiday to mark Idd-ul-Fitr," the Gazette reads.
