Faith Kipyegon

In 2023 most Kenyan celebrities were given their flowers through awards. From the entertainment industry to sports, we witnessed celebrities making moves and getting their recognition.

Faith Kipyegon: During the World Athletics Awards held in Monte Carlo in Monaco, France, she flew the Kenyan flag high after winning the Athlete of the Year Award. This year, she broke the 1500m and 5000m world records

Kate Actress:  Catherine Kamau got awarded the Order of the Grand Warrior by President William Ruto during this year's Jamhuri Day. 

Separately, Kate was won the Best Actress of the Year during the Africa Women Awards. 

Vera Sidika: She won the Celebrity Sensation category at the Africa Women Awards, beating Nigeria's Mercy Eke, Cee C, Ilebaye, and Hilda Baci (The Chef).

Waihiga Mwaura: He was awarded the International Anti-Corruption Excellence Award in the category of safeguarding sports from corruption, from the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani & the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. 

Maura said he spent his first eight years of his career looking at corruption in sports including doping, athlete nationality transfers and corruption at major sports events.

Jacky Vike: The content creator and actor was awarded the Order of the Grand Warrior of Kenya from President William Ruto during Jamhuri day.

Eddie Butita: He was awareded the Order of the Grand Worrior by President Ruto.

In his message, he said "The journey has been great so far, na bado tunazidi kusonga in GOD we trust, my vision is to make a difference in the entertainment industry and create more opportunities. bio updated."

Kelvin Kiptum: He won the World Athlete of the Year - Men’s Out of Stadia, during the World Athletics Awards

Faith Cherotich: She took home the Rising Star of the year award at World Athletics Awards. Cherotich finished her season after bagging Kenya gold in the women's 3,000m steeplechase at the World Athletics U20 Championship in Cali, Colombia

Emmanuel Wanyonyi: He also made Kenyans proud after he swept the Rising Star of the Year award at the World Athletics Awards. Wanyonyi, the world U20 800m champion, capped his season with silver from the 2023 World Championships and the Diamond League Trophy. He achieved all this at the age of  19.
