Exclusive: Kambua talks grief, loss and wellbeing
"Somehow society gives a free pass for women to grieve but we don't do the same for men," Kambua
Gospel minister, singer, songwriter and podcaster, Kambua was moderating a panel on grief, loss and wellbeing at the just concluded Hearth Summit, Nairobi edition.
In an exclusive interview with media personality Kalondu Musyimi, Kambua said "Wellness to me means being whole, physically, emotionally and your whole being being in balance."
Kambua emphasized on the importance of taking care of one's life "Everyone goes through seasons of grief and loss and it just doesn't refer to losing someone, it could be the loss of a job, an opportunity, dream, its all sort of things we grieve, how do we ensure we don't get stuck."
Kambua added that there should be spaces for allowing men to grieve "Somehow society gives a free pass for women to grieve but we don't do the same for men. even though their grieving process is different, we just need to honour it as well."
