Aslay alias  Aslay Isihaka Nassoro is a Tanzanian bongo hit maker who came into lime light when he was still a teen in 2011 with his debut single, "Nakusemea".

It was a hit in his native Tanzania and throughout East Africa and he toured accordingly while following up with songs including "Niwe Nawe" featuring Temba.

The veteran musician has started his YouTube channel explaining his music journey and on his first episode, he explained what led to the break of the "Yamoto band." in mid-2017.

According to him, the core split caused him tragedy but again garnered him courage to continue with his work.

He stressed that each one of them wanted to recognize their talents at high end  levels.

"Kuna baadhi ya mambo mengine ambayo yaliyotokea mawili matatu ambayo siwezi kuyaongea  nahisi yalisabibisha kundi letu kuvunjika tayari."

(There are somethings that happened which I cannot talk about,I feel they made the group break up.)

Adding

( Even after the group broke up, it gave me alot of strength as a solo artist.

We lived as brothers. But we also wanted to see how far one could go as a solo artist.Everyone wanted to throw the hook to their side.)

The Yamoto band was a melodic band with a gathering of four young people from Tanzania.

The group did emerge around 2014.The band comprised of Aslay, Marombosso, Beka, and Enock Bella.

They landed with a blast in the Tanzanian music industry discharging hits, for example, Ya Moto, Cheza Kwa Madoido, Niseme nisiseme, Nitakupwelepweta, Su featuring Ruby, Nitajuta and Mama which made them known in the East Africa Region and the entire of Africa on the loose.

The band’s name started as Mkubwa na Wanawe Outfit before rebranding to Yamoto.
