With T-4 days to the official premiere of The Real Housewives of Nairobi, the cast is trying to get Kenyans psyched up for the series after their botched trailer.

And one of the cast members Minnie Kariuki is doing a good job at it.

Minnie wants Kenyans to know that the show is not all rosy and they are not best friends like Disney Princesses. But most importantly, she wants them to know she is the shade master and her online demeanour should not fool you she brings the drama home.

The budding actress said she will be the one bringing the shade to the reality show and is “ready to serve everything.”

Seems it claws out the season, I wonder what really is on the menu that Minnie will be serving.

On how she landed the role and her reasons for agreeing to feature in the franchise Minnie said; “The opportunity just came knocking... and I am a very big fan of the (Real Housewives) franchise."

She went on to give her definition of a housewife as she shut down netizens who were attacking the casting directors of the show over the fact that some of the cast members are not married and they work more than they are trophy wives.

"I think a real housewife is not just the traditional housewife who stays at home.

Housewives are women who are well-empowered, very independent, and very strong-headed. And I think I’m a good representation of that, so why not?" Minnie said.

She went on to add, "I will be serving shade; I’m the queen of shade. I’m also serving drama and I bring all the fashion,”

On what to expect on the show (minus her dram of course) Minnie revealed she and the rest of the cast were all about showing the diversity of women.

“The women of Nairobi are very strong, confident, bold, fashionable. And I think that is what you will see mostly on the show – our diversity as women and our personalities playing out on the show.

I think it’s a fabulous opportunity for every woman who’s in it. The ladies (on the show) have great personalities that are different and lovable,” she said.

The show is set to premiere on the 23rd of February and in doing so, Nairobi will join other African countries such as Lagos, Nigeria, and Durban, South Africa that is part of the long-running franchise.
