Tom Osinde, a former Treasury officer who went missing two weeks ago, was found dead in Migori's river Kuja, according to the police.

Police claimed that the body had been sitting at the mortuary without anyone realizing it until it was discovered in River Kuja on June 22.

The two suspects who had been detained on June 27 and his family were eventually able to positively identify him.

On June 22, Kamagambo police officers picked up the body.

The polythene papers the accused used to choke Osinde have also been found by the police.

Additionally, they located some of his personal belongings on a farm where his vandalized automobile was discovered on June 22.

The location and identity of Osinde's body were confirmed by DCI Mohamed Amin.

A protracted hunt for the senior Osinde came to a terrible conclusion, according to his brother Enock Nemwel Osinde.

He posted on social media; “Thank you friends for your outpouring of love, prayers and support during my brother's search. Unfortunately, the outcome isn't the one we anticipated. Tom was killed and his body was found in Migori County. Please continue praying for us as try to come to terms.”

Police have two Osinde employees in custody.  According to his family, Osinde vanished on June 18 while driving from his home in Nakuru to Borabu, Kisii.

The suspects in detention are employees of Osinde at his Ngata residence in Nakuru, said to Donnata Atieno, Director of DCI in Rongai.

They are under investigation for murder and kidnapping. A driver for Osinde is among the employees being held.

He was observed driving Osinde's vehicle in both his town of Nyamira and to the location where it was discovered abandoned and vandalized in Kiligoris.

He is alleged to have taken the four-wheel drive vehicle to a car wash in Osinde's village the day after he went missing.

His instructions were that it should only be washed car from the outside because the interior was not dirty, according to a car wash employee.

The suspect had spent the night in the village with Osinde's automobile, which shocked and surprised the locals.

Police investigations reveal that he then drove it to Kilgoris and left it there.
