Uncertainty surrounds the murder and severe burns discovered on the remains of a Nigerian man and his Kenyan girlfriend in Nairobi's Kamulu neighborhood.

They have been identified as Kamulu socialite Rachael Kanini "Kaniss" and her Nigerian lover Olujobi Gbenga aka Omodollar.

According to investigators, the reason for their grisly murder has not yet been determined.

Given that the two were tortured, killed, and had their car set on fire, some people think it was a lousy business arrangement.

On Sunday, June 25, they were abducted, murdered elsewhere, and then transported to the location where their burned bodies were discovered.

Investigative work has shown that the two resided on Ridgeways Kiambu Road.

On the day they were abducted, Gbenga is claimed to have called Kanini and told her he had been detained by individuals posing as police officials following an accident close to Muthaiga.

Nobody knows what happened after that until the day when their bodies were discovered in a field that had been burned with what appeared to be acid.

The murdered couple

Kanini appears to have been put into her boyfriend's car and killed when she arrived.

While her boyfriend's car was burned, her own was discarded in the city's Thome neighborhood.

According to Nairobi police chief Adamson Bungei, an investigation is being conducted to determine who committed the murder and its purpose.

"Experts are working on the case to establish what happened," he said.

On June 27, a neighbor at the area claimed she stumbled upon the bodies and dialed 911.

It is assumed that the kidnappers and murderers used a sophisticated and well-coordinated operation to ensure they left no evidence behind because they are still at large.

Before the woman was buried in Tala, Machakos County, the shocking revelation sparked an online outpouring of grief and condolences from friends, relatives, and fans.

The two, according to locals, have been together for almost ten years.

The two were found with burns on Wednesday, June 28 in the evening at Josna Farm. According to police, they were slain elsewhere and taken there.

The remains looked to have been tortured and killed elsewhere before being transported to the spot and burned, according to police who responded to the scene.

According to police and witnesses, both bodies were found to be completely naked, with shoelaces wrapped around their hands and legs.

The female body had no obvious injuries, but the lower portion of the waist was missing, according to the police, while the Nigerian's body had visible injuries on the head, stomach, and thighs.

After the area was cleaned up, the bodies were taken to the mortuary to await examination.

No one has been arrested yet, according to the police, and investigations are still ongoing.
