Hollywood's highest paid actress, Angelina Jolie reveals she wouldn't be an actress given a second chance
Multi-award winning American actress, filmmaker and humanitarian Angelina Jolie has shocked masses after she revealed, giving another go at life she would not go into acting!
I know... I'm equally dumbfounded. Can you picture anyone else delivering the role of Maleficent honestly? Heads up, they are making a Maleficent 3 in case you didn't know.
Speaking during an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Jolie who has on multiple occasions been named Hollywood's highest-paid actress opened up about her struggles with fame and the pressure to live with her life in the public eye noting when she first started out being a celebrity wasn't as crazy as it is these days.
"I wouldn't be an actress today, when I was starting out, it wasn't as much of an expectation to be as public, to share so much." started off the 48-year-old actress.
Angelina went on to quip part of the reason why she seemingly "detests" her career these days is because being famous translates to the public assuming they get to dictate how you live your life/present yourself. Adding that people choose "how they want you," and never fully accept the whole of you.
"Since I was young, people liked the part of me that's pretty tough and maybe a bit wild — that's the part that I think people enjoy. I'm not the one you want to hear about my pain or my sadness. You know, that's not entertaining," the mother of 6 (all of whom she shares with her ex-husband fellow famed actor Brad Pitt) told Wall Street Journal.
The 'Eternals' star who highlighted how "shallow" Hollywood was went on to add how the constant media scrutiny made it hard for her to spend as much time with her kids as she'd have preferred to.
"You kind of step out when there's times you would have liked to have been there," the Golden Globe Award winner noted before adding, “Of all the places in the world, Hollywood is not a healthy place,"
Growing up as the daughter of two huge actors back in the day Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand, Jolie revealed that she was "never very impressed with Hollywood."
Jolie notes that she's ready to leave Hollywood to spend more time in Cambodia, where she has another home.
