Digital content creator and entrepreneur Murugi Munyi is opening up about her terrible spending habits - revealing she is an impulsive spendthrift because to her money comes and goes.

The mother of 3 however noted she understands her spending habits can be a bit of an issue because besides the overspending her saving plan has always been wanting as well.

Murugi highlights being with her hubby Zach, to some extent just heightened her spending issue because he used to take care of everything around her house and her money was just for vibes and whatever she deemed fit.

“I spend money so much because I know it is coming back. Sometimes that can be a bit of an issue, and I am addressing it with a therapist currently as we speak. I tend just overspend," started off the mother of 3 while guest appearing at the Financial Incorrect podcast.

She went on to add that her "irresponsible" money habits did not start recently or when she started racking in huge bags of cash, it is just a trait she has always had even when she was a single mother and before establishing her business.

"Even when I got a well-paying job, I wasn’t saving. Now at least, (I save and I am also investing.) I don’t have anything to show what I did with the money I got from employment.

My husband was doing everything for me. He was paying school fees for my son, rent. I think I was just spending on the good life,” the entrepreneur candidly stated.

Finishing up, the content creator went on to thank her husband for helping tame her habits and instil some financial literacy in her. She credits Zach for helping teach her the importance of budgeting as well as saving as well as a few other money management plans.

Well she is a little way from the goal but with her therapist and with Zach she has been able to evolve so much.

“I feel like a lot of people don’t have access to knowledge that can show them they can afford a lot more than they think.

Even I didn’t realize this until I met my husband. He’s the one who taught me that if you put money away and you don’t spend all of it, you are healthy. I never used to think about it at that point,” Murugi said.
