Veteran US-based Kenyan rapper Nonini and Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) CEO Ezekiel Mutua feud has taken a dramatic turn with Dr. Mutua promising to take legal action against Nonini.

This is after Nonini sparked controversy on social media by sharing documents he maintained are official MCSK account records where he called out the music organization for embezzling funds.

Nonini accused MSCK of failing to share the revenue earned in a 70/30 ratio, with the artist getting the bigger piece of the pie (70%) as mandated.

"You see the exact problem that is affecting Kenyan Music Industry. These are the figures @TheMCSK budgeted Artists monies for the year that just ended 2023.

This is a problem in all CMOs administration and directors benefit more than anyone," Nonini wrote in part as he shared the document on his official X account.

He went on to call out the Kenya Copyright Board (KECOBO) for still issuing a license to operate to MCSK even though they knew they were not following the set rules.

Savagely responding to Nonini's claims, MCSK's CEO also took to his socials in a bid to sanitize their organization.

He called Nonini a liar and assured Kenyans the document posted online was doctored.

In his fury, Dr. Ezekiel went on to accuse Nonini of being a thief himself and mismanaging funds while he was the director of the Performers Rights Society of Kenya (PRISK.)

"There's this fugitive @Noninimgenge2ru who embezzled musician's money when he was a director of MUPAKE & PRISK. We reported him and his gang to the police last week and we are pursuing their prosecution," an agitated Ezekiel wrote on X in response to the rapper's claims.

He went on to add that the document was from Nonini's tenure and clearly illustrated his alleged incompetence.

Finishing up, Ezekiel dared the 'Furahiday' hitmaker to take up the matter with the office of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations and let the law deal with the matter.

"Now I hear he's circulating a FAKE document on social media purporting it's official accounts of MCSK but the document is actually lifted from the MUPAKE accounts of 2017-2019 and doctored to serve the fertile imagination.

This is how they used to steal money from artists, but we will ensure that they face the law. Boss you can run but you can't hide. If the document is genuine take it to the DCI office and record a statement," the last of his post read.
