Eluid Kipchoge lands in Japan for the Tokyo Marathon, Netizens react
Kipchoge will be defending his record from two years ago.
Eluid Kipchoge, a Kenyan long-distance runner, landed in Japan for the 2024 Tokyo Marathon set to take place on 3rd March.
The 39-year-old, who has showcased marathon greatness over an 11-year period, is gearing up for the Tokyo Marathon on Sunday, 3 March, his last race before the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Kipchoge will be defending his record from two years ago.
According to Olympics.Com Kipchoge will be joined by equally fast compatriots on the starting line: Vincent Kipkemoi, who finished second when the former world record holder won his fifth Berlin title last year, and Timothy Kiplagat.
Kipchoge says he is excited to run again. Japan is where Eliud won his second Olympic gold, in 2021.

Eluid Kipchoge is a long-distance marathoner and was formerly specialized in the 5000 meters.
The athlete stunned the world as he proved to the world that "No man is limited' as he became the first man in history to run a sub-two-hour marathon.
He has broken several world records since 2003 when he claimed a stunning gold medal in the world championships in Paris.
In 2023, Eluid ran the B.A.A Boston Marathon where he ran and shocked Kenyans as he took sixth place after the tough race.
