Singer Zuchu was accused by a Tanzanian gospel singer Enock Jonas of sampling his gospel song.

Jonas has been demanding Tsh500 million Tanzanian shillings (Ksh 25.9 million) as compensation.

According to Jonas representatives, the WCB singer is accused of sampling his gospel hit 'Wema Wa Mungu/Zunguka' on her new track 'Kwi Kwi'

"I reached out to the WCB lawyer and said he didn't see any infringement in the song. I asked him to listen to the beat and the lyrics. Both of them have the right and I think they need to sit down as artiste in the next seven days otherwise they have to go to court and one of them will win," said Jonas' rep

The singer says the melody and some of the lyrics were taken off his song without his consent.

WCB manager, Babu Tale said there wasn't any infringement and that WCB is ready to battle it in court.

Tanzanian talent manager and Mbosso's ex-manager, Sandra Brown has also weighed in on the matter.

"In my opinion, it isn't sampling per se, it's from another angle. I listened to the two songs over and over and found out it was the interpolation. It is taking part of the melody of a popular song to a new song," she explained

New details show that Enock had in the past sampled Diamond Platnumz's 'Number One hit song.

"If the video is there, Wasafi can use it but because the issue is about Zuchu, it's debatable. If it was about Diamond, he'd complain why the singer sampling his 'Number One."

Sandra advised the gospel artiste to settle the matter outside of the court.

'In my opinion, Enock is guilty here."
