Etana was back in the 254 and from the event, clearly, she was missed.
The name of the event #EtanaReturns was a hashtag started on Twitter and the organizers and Etana embraced it. She was here yesterday, 11th May so all roads led to Nairobi’s Uhuru Gardens.
The beautiful, bubbly and energetic Etana returned to a place she calls home and surely did not disappoint her adoring fans.
The event kicked off with DJ performances before the talented Gravity band left fans begging for more by the time their time on stage was up.
Wyre the love child, reminded us of the good ‘ol days with Necessary Noize and at times had to let the fans sing along to his popular jams.
By the time Etana took to stage some minutes past 1 am, the crowd was ready to party with the ‘Weakness in me’ hitmaker.
Accompanied by her band which was largely made of Kenyan artists, Etana gave an electric performance for close to three hours.
The Grammy awards nominee was left in awe as Kenyans sang along to her songs from the classics to the very latest collections.
The energy from the crowd was thrilling and no one even walked out after she was done performing at around 3:30.
It was an event worth the time and money.
Here are a few pictures from the concert. Kenyan’s clearly love reggae.
