Blogger Cyprian Andama Nyakundi has been charged at a Milimani court with extortion contrary to the law.
He has been charged alongside Emmanuel Nyamweya Ongera for allegedly extorting Sh 1 million from Yogesh Pattni, the CEO Victoria Commercial bank limited on January 20 at the Westgate mall.
The two are said to have extorted the said cash as a down payment for an earlier agreed Sh17.5 , a precondition to pull down libellous content from Nyakundi's blog.
Appearing before senior resident magistrate Kennedy Cheruiyot, Nyakundi and Ongera have denied the charges preferred against them.
Nyakundi is represented by four lawyers including Cliff Ombeta and Danstan Omari.
