Jacque Maribe is no longer in police custody after she was released on a cash bail of 1 Million Wednesday evening.

Jowie however was on Tuesday denied bail by Justice James Wakiaga for a number of reasons.

Among the reasons why Jowie was denied bail were;

1. He might interfere with the case

2. He is a threat to himself

“The first accused is nursing a gunshot wound which according to the prosecution is self inflicted in an attempt to commit suicide. But according to the accused it is as a result of an unfortunate incident after he was shot at.

Whichever way you look at it the accused person is under threat of danger and should be under close supervision and that can only be achieved under protective custody where effective policing is possible.”

3. He has no permanent residence given the fact that Jacque Maribe’s house is now a crime scene so the court fears he might be a flight risk in layman’s language anaweza potea.

4. He is a dangerous person for the fact that he owns a gun and some potential witnesses might feel intimidated.

5.There was no tabled evidence to show that Jowie can't access specialized medical attention. He had submitted that he is in need of specialized medical attention thus he be granted bail.

The Judge ordered that he be remanded until his next court appearance. Based on a remands routine here are some of the things that remandee's are subjected to (it is is not automatic that Jowie is doing the same) but he is expected to given that he is under the prison's authority.

1. Wakes up to a head count. The police cannot risk any remandee escaping thus they do this every single day.

2. 11.am Lunch is served. The liberty of eating when you feel like is no longer available for Jowie as he has to adhere to the set rules.

3. At 4.pm dinner is served. Remember how we used to curse back in high school for being served supper at 6pm? Imagine how bad it is for Jowie to be served supper at 4.00pm.
