Diamond Platnumz has been the name on everyone's lips in East and Central Africa the past couple of weeks.

For some, it has been with a sense of schadenfreude as they watch his relationship (read marriage) with the mother of his child, Zari Hassan.

For others, however, the reason Diamond Platnumz is a buzzword is because he released a song called Hallelujah which garnered 1 million views in less than 24 hours.

You see, the fact that Diamond garnered 1 million hits in 24 hours is a little too good to be true -if you listen to the naysayers. Given the way East Africans are conservative with their bundles perhaps the video is growing because Diamond and his team are buying views?

Well, Diamond Platnumz' management team are sick and tired of having their client constantly being accused of fraudulently increasing his profile. And what the manager Mkubwa Fella had to say was:

“Unajua ukimwona mtu ana watu sitini alafu leo leo views mia moja unaweza sema mtu kanunua views. Lakini mtu ana watu milioni tatu, hivi leo akiwa na views milioni moja unaonaje… Hizi simuliza za fasaha tuache,”
