Empire creators are looking to shake things up a bit for Season two.

Following the news of an all-new 18 episode season, the Fox breakout hit will employ two new members into the fold – with NE-YO signed on to join Timbaland as music producer to the show, as well as Zac Efron signed on to play a fourth Lyon son.

As of right now, there are no plans for NE-YO, who has long voiced his desire to be a part of the show, to actually appear on the series; however, he will be writing and producing all-new music.

The series will be split into two parts – with part one ending with Efron emmerging as the fourth son, teased by the network as a “crazy” mid-season cliffhanger.

The drama is anything but minimal for the Empire Records family and, to be honest, we couldn’t be more stoked.
