The wait is over! After teasing his fans for over two weeks, popular Nigerian Highlife Singer Flavour unlocked his Fifth Studio album which goes by the name “Ijele The Traveler”. The Highlife King’s highly anticipated album, was released just before midnight on June 26, 2017.

The album title interprets the journey of Ijele masquerade through out the world hence Flavour’s music journey. Ijele is a name the Igbos use to refer to a special kind of Masquerade, which normally comes out during a special occasion.

The contemporary highlife maestro, Flavour N'abania,  has featured major African artistes including Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie, Selebobo, M.I and Chidinma.

Listeners will be wowed by the versatility of musical genres, that the star has included on his 17 track album. Fans will hear eclectic music sounds such as reggae, R&B, gospel, makossa and more!

The 17 tracks include: Virtuous Woman, Sake Of Love (Ft. Sarkodie), Catch You, Baby Na Yoka, Jaiye, Skit (Ft. Waga, Oloye, Rabbai & Zuada), Simba, Nnekata, Chimamanda, Iheneme (Ft. Chidinma), Body Calling (Ft. Terry Apala), Oringo, Oppressor, Ijele (Ft. Zoro), Loose Guard (Ft. Phyno), Ukwu Nwanta and Most High (Ft. Semah G. & Weifur)

The inspiration behind the album title, "Ijele - The Traveler” comes from Flavour’s indigenous background. “Ijele” is one of the rarest and biggest masquerades in Igbo culture. Whilst smaller masquerades show up at every occasion, Ijele's appearance is only at notable events where it brings that extra spice.

The 'Ada Ada' crooner and his music embodies the Ijele persona as he brings spice with his music everywhere that it is played. The album chronicles Ijele's journey through the world, adding that extra spice. In his own words, Flavour states:

“The album title, reflects my journey as a musician metaphorically. As a musician, I’ve transformed, evolved and transcended within my music and social responsibilities, and I am proud to share this journey with my fans and listeners far and wide.

Music is in my blood, it’s all I know. Music is my life.”

Flavour assures his new studio album will be a jam that won't only be set on repeat but actually Top Music carts across Africa.
