Deep voiced rapper DNA is back. He has rebranded to DNA Mister Dreams.

Speaking to Adelle Onyango of Kiss FM's Breakfast with the stars, DNA explained why he changed his name.

"I decided to rebrand because the name DNA, can be ambiguous in google searches. I'm evolving to many things I'm not only just an artiste but also getting into production. Now, I'm doing art the whole scope from production

DNA was an acronym for dreams and ambitions.

The first time he heard his debut song on radio, it "gave me chills, it was unbelievable at first we did not do songs we did rap battles. the song ran on their 9pm play list and people started calling saying they loves the song," DNA Mister Dreams reminisced.

He continued explaining that "My folks discouraged me with all love, at time the musicians they saw were not doing well. I told them, I will not go on with college, I gave them back the choque for my college fees saying, 'I don't want to waste your money'. To be extremely honest even now they do not completely approve."

DNA narrated the story behind monster hit, Banjuka.

"Even in humility we must take our points. Banjuka is the biggest hit in Kenya. It is 13 years old and I still get cheques. My producer told me stop doing rap battles, let's do a song that will get you cheques and chics. The national mood was in the same theme as the song, and the song became a rocket ship moved from borrowing 10 bob from my sister to touring and buying cars."

The highlight of his career was performing for over 40,000 people in Mwanza, Tanzania.

I was called for my first show in Mwanza after Banjuka came out. I was called to curtain raise for Koffi Olomide. I got there just in time, it was at a stadium and I got on stage they were 40,000 people. I was like 'Who is this guy, a few days ago I was asking for Ksh 10, now here I am.'. The event rocked and the stadium was shaking that was one of the biggest moment.

He added, "I have also met people who have told me they listened to the song and it lightened their mood."

DNA Mister Dreams then unveiled his new single titled, Ok Alright on Adelle's show.

"I had recorded it with someone else but I did not like the outcome, so I told myself, 'Drill down and stop delegating, go back to the basics and do it.' I finished song on October 17."

DNA now has a dance challenge for the new song and he is offering 10,000 worth of airtime daily to anyone who impresses him with their dance moves.
