Joseph Irungu alias, 'Jowie’ who has been behind bars for the last 533 days as the key suspect in the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani, has been released.

It has been over a month ever since he was granted bail and today he is a free man after securing release from Kamiti Prison.

According to his bail terms, Jowie will be required to report to the chief’s office at his parent’s Nakuru home every month.

The court has also forbidden him from talking about the ongoing case anywhere including on his social media platforms.

Jowie, who has been in remand since September 2018, had filed a bail application on November 21, 2019 claiming he was suffering at the Kamiti Maximum Prison after pleading with the court to consider the time he has already been in custody and free him.

His first words on his way home he said from a video by K24, said,

"I can't talk right now, I am on my phone bana! I am just alive." Joiwe

You could tell from the look on his face he was happy to be released. He was smiling and making calls to alert the real OG's he is finally out.

At least now he can go home to his family and real friends who stood by him when he needed them most.

Jowie is now a single man after Jacque Maribe publicly dumped him after he threw a grand engagement party for her where her close friends attended.
