Kamene and Jalas on The Morning Kiss admitted to the few changes they've had to make in their households to survive these tough times. For Jalas, he stopped being specific on brands.
No brand affiliation. Even the sugar in those brown bags or plastic bags with no brand name, go with it because that is life.

Kamene and her neighbors have even adopted community - nyumba kumi - living.
Where we live we even started co-living. Someone is saying I am making dinner today pass by and we say who will make dinner the next day? But for my house I stopped buying meat in the supermarket and now I go all the way in the local hadi Dagoreti Market.
Many of the callers opened up on how they have cut spending on various luxuries like no soda after meals, walking instead of using cabs and so much more.

But one guy who made Kamene and Jalas laugh out loud was when he said he had to kick his girlfriend out.
I had a chic in the house and that budget was too much so I told her to go back to her mother because she was someone I could not afford, I can only afford myself
Clearly things are tough but as The Morning Kiss duo said, things will get better. If we all managed to get to August, we can do this.
