Many of us have watched Zendaya grow from her days at Disney in the kids series, Shake It Up, to become one of the most renowned actresses and musicians.

Today we celebrate her as she makes history. At just 24-years-old, the star of HBO’s Euphoria bagged the award for outstanding lead actress during the Emmy awards held Sunday September 20th. 

Zendaya beat the likes of Jennifer Aniston from The Morning Show and Laura Linney from Ozark in that category and Sandra Oh from Killing Eve.

Jimmy Kimmel who hosted the award show, announced the win and she could not hold back her excitement.

"I am getting really nervous. Okay, I just wanna say thank you to the TV academy and all the other incredible women in this category because I admire you all. This is pretty crazy I really don't cry. Thank you, HBO, my family and team who are always there.  To the Euphoria casting tram, I am so lucky to be working with you. And to Sam Levinson(creator), I am grateful you trusted me with your story. I know it id a weird tome to celebrate but there is hope in the young people and I always feel like a great example to that. " Zendaya gave her acceptance speech

Euphoria which premiered in 2019 is a drama series about high-school students who navigate love, sex, drugs and identity conundrums.
