9 days into the beautiful month of October and definitely the last quarter of the year.
Normally for the movies and series lovers, this is the time when we start getting dope releases and due to Covid-19 we can only hope we won't suffer.
This month started out on a high note as two Kenyan films, 'Disconnect' and 'Sincerely Daisy' made it into Netflix. What a win!
This Is Us is set to return, on October 27th and we cannot be any happier.
As always, I have lined up series and movies that you should be binge watching this month.
1. Sincerely Daisy - Drama
Sincerely Daisy is a 2020 Kenyan coming-of-age romantic comedy film produced and directed by Nick Mutuma. The film stars Ella Maina, Brian Abejah, Sam Psenjen and Mbeki Mwalimu in the lead roles.
2. American Murder: The Family Next Door - Docu-series
The film tells the story of the 2018 Watts family murders, which took place in Frederick, Colorado. It mostly recycles the archival footage used during the HLN special including social media posts, law enforcement recordings, text messages and home video footage to depict the events that occurred. It was released on Netflix on September 30, 2020.
3. Disconnect (2018 film) - Comedy
Disconnect is a 2018 Kenyan romantic comedy film directed by David 'Tosh' Gitonga and Michael Jones. The film stars Kenyan actress Brenda Wairimu and actor Nick Mutuma who lead a diverse cast which explores the dating scene in Nairobi.
4.This Is Us season 5 (premiers October 27th)
Kevin, Kate and Randall, three siblings, go through unique personal struggles at different intervals of life as they try to find happiness and get over a tragedy in their past.
5. Serious men - Drama
Tormented with his 'under-privileged' societal status, a father capitalizes on his son's newfound fame as a boy-genius. Little does he realize that the secret he harbors will destroy the very thing he loves the most.
6. Rebecca - Romance
A young newlywed arrives at her husband's imposing family estate on a windswept English coast and finds herself battling the shadow of his first wife, Rebecca, whose legacy lives on in the house long after her death.
7. The right stuff - Drama
Astronauts and their families become instant celebrities in a competition that will either kill them or make them immortal in the quest to be a part of Project Mercury.
8. The Undoing
A therapist's life unravels after she learns that her husband might be responsible for a widespread disaster.
