Gospel superstar, Evelyn Wanjiru has been a role model and a beacon of hope to many young women in Kenya.
From her talent to her work ethic to her love and dedication to God is purely inspirational.
Evelyn is married to producer, Agundabweni Akweyu and just like any other marriage, they have had their fair share of challenges.
Evelyn has been married for the last eight years and hasn’t been able to bear a child.
But that has never broken her or weighed her down. In her latest post, the 'Tunakuabudu' singer, advised people in marriage that it is not all about sex or child bearing.
The singer went on to advise couples to always settle down with spouses who are heavily invested in their calling or profession.
"Marry someone who can carry the weight and the burden of your vision, marriage is beyond sex and bearing children.
It is disastrous to marry someone who doesn’t show any interest in what you’re called to do," wrote Wanjiru.
Posting a photo of her hubby and their couple friends Mr. and Mrs Otieno, she added,
As you are falling in love with him/her also fall in love with their calling, profession, passion and vision. You must first discover yourself and your discovery will be the parameter at which you make your marital decision. I hope this blessed you."
Evelyn has never shied away from praising her hubby for always being supportive.
An year ago, in an interview with Massawe Japanni, she said having no kids does not worry her at all.
''My marriage has been an interesting journey but I don’t worry because I don’t have kids. My husband really gives me strength.
If I was getting pressure from him I would have been worried. I, however, do get pressure from other people including close friends," Opened up the soft spoken singer.
