'Here’s my truth' Nick Mutuma finally breaks silence amid women assault allegations

More to Nick Mutuma trending because of the tremendous job he has done as a producer on Netflix, he has been trending for all the wrong reasons.

A few years ago, allegations were published through Twitter that he abused not one but a few ladies during his prime growth in the industry. Ladies took to social media to state their truths and as days went by, these stories died a natural death.

Four years down the line, these allegations have crept up.

Nick remained silent in as much as he had people for and against him but you know silence can be interpreted in many different ways. And because of that, he decided to give his truth.

"Last few days have been a nightmare for me and my family. Here’s my truth.

The allegations that came out against me in 2017 that have since resurfaced have really taken a toll on me. They have really affected my family and sadly they have and continue to affect the people in my personal and professional life. I know I'm not perfect, but I'm not the person these people tried to portray me as. Every day, I work towards being a better person; but it is so hard to do that when you are constantly being pulled back by people that are convinced that you are a monster. This has been a very difficult time for me and my family not just because of the things being said about us on social media, but because it has been very difficult to talk about this. I did not want my silence to be misinterpreted as guilt or complacency, yet I also did not want to speak and have my words twisted and misrepresented. It is unfortunate that despite this, I have been put on trial in the court of public opinion, prosecuted and ruled guilty by persons with malicious intentions.

I hate the fact that this has gotten in the way of something that I've built for a decade, yet despite all of this, I have still kept my head down and worked towards my goals; and now that they're finally within reach, these same people are still trying to portray me as the villain in their stories. They have been trying to discredit all my hard work and they have done their best to see that my dreams never come true. I would like to categorically state that I am against any form of abuse against women and I always have been. I would also like to thank everyone who has stood by me through all of this, and to everyone who has supported me, I want to say that your faith in me is not in vain.
