He had a childhood where he was always thrown from one house to another but the most vivid memory was when he was in class four. He went live with his aunty in Nairobi who was married.
“My uncle didn’t like me from the beginning he used to remove the meat in my food and leave only vegetables for me to eat."
Ofwenke moved to his aunties house after his mother and his siblings went to live in Ukambani. So he had to look for shelter and that was the best place he could think of but when he got there, things were hard for him.
"My mattress was cut to only fit to lay his upper body. Provided I had a place to lay my head the rest was a rumor. Monday I went to school and Tuesday I would go to Malaba Forest to protect maize and beans plantation from wild Monkeys." He told Jalang'o
At that age, the life he was living ways that were a bit too much for him compared to his classmates. The emotional toucher was overwhelming.
"I think that was when I tried my first ever suicide attempt. I had had enough of the suffering, the fighting with monkeys and constant beatings.”
Sadly, he had no one to talk to and confide in them the struggles he was going through. He maintained and life moved on. Now he is one of the most sought after wedding MC's and TV hosts.
