Nicki Minaj's father, Robert Maraj was pronounced dead on Saturday after a hit and run.
According to the police report, the 64-year-old man was walking in Mineola, Long Island, on Friday at 6:15 p.m. when he hit by an undescribed, vehicle that left the scene of the accident, Nassau County Police Department said.
A representative for Minaj confirmed the death to TMZ, although she has not made a public statement.
Nicki Minaj did not have a tight relationship with her father as she was growing up. According to various interviews she did, she always revealed he was an abusive man.
All she wanted was to get the money and help her mother live an independent life without him.
The news of his death comes a few months after she birthed her son.
