On Wednesday morning on Homeboyz Radio The Lift Off with Shaffie Weru, DJ Joe Mfalme and Nevile they had a discussion that offended a lot of women especially those who have gone through Gender Based Violence.

The story was of a Kenyan lady who was thrown off the balcony of a 12 story building because she refused to participate in sexual activities. It is not a joke, but the link on the show, had them laughing. That is where the problem was.

And then the blame was shifted away from the perpetrator (the man who threw her off the balcony) to the victim (the lady who was thrown because she refused to conform to his sexual needs).

The three presenters from Homeboyz have been trending but for all the wrong reasons. Everyone was seeking an apology.

After Shaffie posted his apology, Joe Mfalme took to social media with his official apology statement saying,

"To my dear fans, friends. family and fellow Kenyans. I would like to take this moment to apologize for my statements on the Breakfast show #TheLiftOff On Homeboyz Radio on Wednesday 24th March 2021.

I realize that my statements and contribution about the unfortunate incident that happened to Eunice were totally wrong and could be interpreted by some as encouraging especially at a time when we need to stand up against any form of Gender-Based Violence against women.

I would also like to take this opportunity to also sincerely apologize to Eunice her family and anyone who has been a victim of Gender-Based Violence for the harm that was caused by my words. I do not and will never condone any form of violence against women and I will do my part to help put an end to it. I sincerely apologize for all the harm caused. I know belle,. now I do biller." The video was shared on Joe Mfalme's page buy after all the comments against their statement, they were forced to delete the video. They tried deleting the comments and that is what got people talking further.
