Hit Squad captain Commander Nick Okoth gave a speech after his fight during the Olympics apologizing to Kenyans for losing to Mongoliaโ€™s Erdenebatyn Tsendbaatar.

Kenyans on social media have shown him so much support assuring him that he may have lost but he has done an amazing job. I mean getting as far as the Olympics is already an achievement.

More to that, Kenyans are even more proud of him because he gave his speech in Kiswahili and on sheng.

โ€œNi jamaa hanijui, mimi humuona akicheza, round two nikaona hayuko, coach akaniambia nimeshinda, then round three nikajua nimemchapa, then wakasema ameshinda,โ€ Okoth said.

Here are some of the comments in support of him despite the loss;

Phillip Director: Nick Okoth, Haujatu-dissapoint. We are very proud of you ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿพ Infact I am more proud kwa sababu ulipeana interview in sheng, na language yetu๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฟ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฟ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฟ๐Ÿ™Œ๐ŸฟI hope the Athletes are watching. Pigeni interview na ile language uko comfortable nayo, wacha wata-translate na huko๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿฟ

Joe Muchiri: Kudos to Nick Okoth for speaking Swahili after his match although he lost, we are still proud of him for representing Kenya ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ช ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ if it was up to me none of our Kenyan athletes would speak English abroad Hata kama wana jua fluent English make those suckers hire Kenyan translators for each athlete Hata akina Messi & CR7 rarely speak English ama namna gani my fren.

Spokes Person GOK: Nick Okoth, you are a true champion. The Olympic medal may have slipped out of your strong hands, but you are our hero and Kenyans are proud of you. God indeed has a reason for everything. Thank you for representing us well.
