Another day, another event postponed. All for a good cause but it still hurts.
Kenyans were counting down days to finally meeting and dancing to Omah Lay's songs on the 7th of August courtesy of Pizza and Wine Group. Unfortunately owing to containment measures announced by Health CS Mutahi Kagwe, they have been forced to postpone it.
"Following the latest announcement by the Ministry of Health Cabinet Secretary, Mutahi Kagwe on 30th July 2021, suspending all public gatherings and in-person meetings of whatever nature, we, Pizza and Wine Group, have taken the difficult decision to push forward the Pizza and Wine Festival - Kitenge Edition initially scheduled for 7th August 2021 to October 2021. Final dates to follow after. The decision was arrived at, after internal consultation in the interests of all stakeholders, you, our beloved attendees, our partners, Omah Lay and his team, local authorities, and local artists."
Adding that they will soon announce possible rescheduled dates.
"We are closely monitoring the situation and are working diligently to confirm the new dates for the Pizza & Wine Festival as soon as possible. We will provide periodic updates to keep you abreast of all developments. Albeit disappointing, this increased time available to promote and plan the event has put us in a unique position to curate a safer and better experience for you, our attendees. We hope to enjoy your continued support as we strive to bring you a world-class experience."
The event had other amazing Kenyan acts from Kahush to Karun to Chris Kaiga to Nviiri but all we can do is wait. Artistes miss the stage and the money that comes with entertaining their fans and fans miss having a good time.
