Having started to emerge from the dark ages courtesy of Covid-19 pandemic during 2020 and 2021, nothing really has changed throughout the years associated with the pandemic with Kenyans experiencing high cost of living, in that, people pay first world bills in a third world country.

In a conversation on the morning Kiss with Kamene and guest host Oga Obinna, the two discussed how over 1.7 million Kenyans lost their jobs, others battled with depression while some marriages ended up breaking due to the lack of funds to sustain basic personal and family needs respectively.

Kamene pointed out that Kenya was one of the few countries that didn’t receive relief funds from international organizations to help battle insufficient money affairs caused by the global pandemic.

Referencing the Jack Ma relief funds project, Obinna pointed out that some relief funds were distributed to help families with more than one child and citing locations such as Kibera where the comedian claimed residents from the area were receiving amounts close to 50,000 Kenya shillings to help aid those families.

According to Kamene, she didn’t receive neither the funds nor a check to cater for her aids. This sparks the question on whether there was a selected scheme on who to receive the funds.
