Amidst the trending threads on Twitter regarding rogue boda boda riders after a lady was sexually harassed along forest road, Maryanne Wangari shared her story of how she was abused back in 2017.

"I was 7 months pregnant, when a boda guy hit my car from behind along Thika road, in less than a minute I had over 50 Boda guys surrounding my car, they blocked me, I couldn't move. This was at 6:45 ish jioni. I stepped out of my car, but before I could even check what had happened, the guys started shouting at me, one tried to get in my car, that's when I realized it was not safe, went back in the car at this point they are pulling me back,"

She explained that upon taking cover in her car, she wasn’t able to roll up her windows as the boda drivers were leaning against the particular space to hinder her attempt to enclose herself in her ride.

"I was saved by the Biker (not a boda guy), he then wrote me a note on his phone and displayed it on my window, asking me to lock the car and not lower the windows. I was just there crying helplessly, shocked, and not even sure what to do," she shared.

"I drove off crying, numb, and parked at the shell on exit 5 where I was rescued. This happened in 2018, to watch that video today triggered so much anger and pain for that lady, we really are not safe out here." She concluded as she explained that 911 correspondents advised her to flee the scene.

During the whole altercation, she reported that the rear lights to the vehicle were stolen.
