Kenyan singer Marya was doing amazing in the music industry, her song with Mustapha 'Hey Baby' shot her into fame.
Her hit-song with Avril 'Chokoza ' was a club banger.
She seemed destined for musical greatness then she just disappeared.
She told Mungai Eve in a recent interview that she was unable to do music on her own after her contract with Ogopa Dj's expired.
Most people she regarded as her friends in the industry turned out to be fake.
When asked about her music career she said that she'd taken a break from that because she kept on hitting walls and managing herself was tough.
"Nilichukua break kidogo...I'll not lie, it's not easy...when I approach studios, trying to do audios ... sina hiyo budget but watu wanajua huyu ni Marya so they charge me very expensive. Niliona I can't match to that." The chokoza hitmaker said loaded with sadness.
She went on to add that she decided to do other things like look for an 8-5 job. However, she insists that music is still in her and she totally loves the craft.
