Former Kenya Films and Classification Board (KFCB) CEO Ezekiel Mutua was Monday appointed as the CEO of the Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK).

Reacting to the news, Kamene and Obinna found the appointment confusing given Mutua's record when it comes to cracking down creatives in the country.

Kamene's other biggest concern is the fact that Kenya seems to be having a habit of hiring old people and giving zero or minimal opportunities to the young people.

"We live in a country where there's no opportunity for the young people." Kamene said. Why do you wanna give someone a job who is not particularly concerned with music?"

Obinna questioned whether Ezekiel really understands the processes creatives go through before putting out their products.

"Does he know musicians first of all? Do you think he knows how artists think or operate because they are about to be limited." He said.

Upon learning about his nemesis' appointment, Eric Omondi was not left impressed and he, as well questioned the direction Kenya is taking when it comes to enhancing the lives of creatives.

Taking to his social media, Omondi wrote; Hii Kenya tunasonga steps mbili Mbele Alafu Kumi Nyuma. Wembe itakua ni ile ile. Akileta unafiki tutafanya kama WILL SMITH.”
