Something as simple as how to take care of your microwave seems like a no-brainer but common sense is not so common to most people.

Ignorance can also be cited as part of the reasons why most people end up spoiling either their domestic or work place microwaves.

Once a microwave is ruined it costs a lot of money to fix sometimes as much as it costs purchasing  a new one.

I have made a list of materials that should be avoided in the microwave.

  • Aluminum Foil
  • Metallic cutlery
  • Metal bowls or utensils
  • Egg shells
  • Do not start when empty
  • Paper bags
  • Stainless steel travel mugs/bottles
  • Styrofoam
  • Take-out containers
  • Travel mugs
  • Uncooked rice/noodles
  • Yogurt and butter containers
  • Food cartons with metal handles
  • Metal or metal-trimmed utensils
  • Metal twist ties
  • wood
  • Plastic foam
